Last November my husband and I took our family of 3 teenagers to America and we visited Mexico. The area we visited we had to stay within the group and not go outside the boundaries as we were told it was unsafe. Only 5 days before 5 murders had taken place. We heard stories about what happens to the child there and so we were blessed to find out child was from that area.

I believe we all want to do something good towards others in our lives. Sometimes we just don’t know how to go about doing this. Many consumers including myself are just not aware of the potentially carcinogenic or toxic chemicals found in the products they use on a daily basis. I will be honest and say I had no idea what a carcinogen is, so I looked it up. A carcinogen is a substance that is capable of causing cancer in humans or animals This can’t be good for us.

Now go and pick up your toothpaste. Turn it over and read what it says. The label may include a phone number for Poison Control and it may also caution you against using the toothpaste for children under age 6.

Mine says: “Children under six years of age should have adult supervision and use a pea sized amount”

Gosh I would never have thought of having to put my toothpaste up in a high place for the children not to touch. How easy is it to use more then a pea size!!

Recently, the Environmental Working Group published the shocking results of its umbilical cord blood study: 287 toxic chemicals were found in the bloodstream of newborns. 180 were carcinogenic, 217 were toxic to the brain and nervous system, and 208 have been shown to cause birth defects or abnormalities in animal tests. The cord blood contained pesticides, chemical ingredients from consumer products, airborne pollutants, and industrial chemicals.

What then is the alternative? I’m unaware of all the options but I do know of one that you can implement immediately. Did you read TIME Magazine’s April 12th Issue with the headline article “The Perils of Plastic?” Much of this information won’t come as a surprise to experienced Trivani users, but the article referred to yet more studies which have revealed the dangerous effects our chemical body burdens are having on our children.

“Certain substances — including BPA and some phthalates — seem to be able to switch in vitro cells from becoming connective tissue to becoming fat cells, and a 2009 study from Belgium found that children exposed to higher levels of toxic chemicals like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) before birth were fatter than those who had lower exposure.”
